So here are the projects I'm cheating with. One of my favorite things about making things for people is thinking about their personality and giving gifts that fit their own personal style. Both of Joe's sisters are pregnant with baby girls so I decided to make them each a quilt that (hopefully!) fit their personalities. Katie's is a nice elegant quilt with muted greens, browns and pinks. Annie's is more on the funky side with bright colors, and plaid. It was also the first rag quilt I've ever made - that was an interesting experience - but it turned out pretty cute. I don't have photos of that one because I already gave it to her last weekend. I'll post photos of the baby and her quilt when she decides to come into the world!

Project #3 is a traveling changing pad for Joe's cousin who is also having a baby girl. Her baby shower is this weekend. It was the first thing like this I've made and I think it turned out pretty good! Next time I think I'll make it smaller so it would fit in another bag easier and be more compact.

This was my first experience with magnetic snaps - hopefully they don't fall off! |

Portable changing pad - when folded up. |

Unfolded - with pockets for diapers and a small wipes container. I used minky so it'd be nice and soft for the little one's tushy! |
One project that will be coming up is my cousin (and best friend's) baby quilt. She is ALSO having a baby girl. There will be baby girls all over the place this spring!
